Why no one should call it an industry

I'm starting to hear a new word those days ( url shortening industry ) I would like to say to those people how believe it's an industry: please go get a life..
spend your time on a real service, now we are overwhelmed with hundreds of social networks and thousands of services built upon those networks, and the networks them self have ( network to network ) services.

it's all useless and wast of time
