I personally like Chrome better because it renders faster (or at least it seems like it on my Mac) and it supports HTML 5. I've never personally had any problems with websites such as Gmail or phpMyAdmin *knock on wood*. I've never been a big on extensions either, but I do use Firebug on Firefox. Fortunately enough Firebug lite is available for Google Chrome so I see no need to switch back unless I need to check how a website renders in Firefox.
