Apple Kills the iHub
In what is one of the quickest turnarounds for Apple's legal team, MIC Gadget's iHub was discontinued today due to reported legal pressure from the consumer electronics giant. Luckily for me, I purchased one of these as soon as I saw it, knowing it would be dead soon.
Of course, any product that features the Apple logo, but isn't produced or designed by Apple is bound to be the cause of cease and desist letters. The iHub is no different. When contacted for a comment, MIC Gadget said "Due to overwhelming response, we have stopped selling the iHub" and refused to acknowledge that Apple Inc. had any role. After canceling the product, MIC proclaimed they would fulfill all orders until the cancellation. Whether or not this is legal, given the cease and desist letter likely received, is still up for question.
You can still pick up your very own black or white iHub on eBay for the time being.
